About Glenn Maxwell

A right-handed batter and a right-arm off-break bowler from Australia, Glenn Maxwell is a powerhouse of international white ball cricket, known for his absurd stroke play.

From Kew, Victoria, Glenn made his professional debut in 2010 for Victoria and later got picked up for the very first BBL season by the Melbourne Renegades in 2011. He made an early impact scoring a 19 ball half century in the 2010/11 one day domestic season, which was a the fastest ever at the time. He debuted for Australia shortly after in 2012 at 23 years old in an ODI against Afghanistan. He proceeded to dominate at the highest level amassing 10 international hundreds including an outrageous 201* against Afghanistan in the 2023 ODI world cup and his 145* off only 65 balls against Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I on the 2016 tour of Sri Lanka. Maxwell has represented Australia in hundreds of matches across all formats and has played a significant role in several major cricket tournaments.

Career Highlight: Scoring 201* off of 128 balls in the 2023 ODI World Cup against Afghanistan. Australia were facing defeat at 7/91 chasing 292 until a badly cramping Maxwell performed a miracle. Hitting sixes with out moving his feet and dealing in majority of boundaries, he hobbled over the line for Australia. One of the greatest ODI innings ever.
